Hello everyone, this is Emma. I just wanted to share one
of my favorite things about living at the beach year round.
This is Doheny Beach about 9am.
This section of the California coast doesn't face West
more southwest, that's why you can see the sun on our left
instead of behind us.
It's a bit chilly, 50 degrees with a LOT of wind!
Beth and I took Buddy for a walk along the beach.
Not a lot of people on the sand, just us really.
We can see lots of bird tracks.
And lots of birds, mostly seagulls, I was
hoping to catch a Pelican, but no luck this morning.
I love to just sit and watch the surf.
There was a storm last night, El Nino, so we knew the surf would be
pretty this morning.
Let's walk some more.
Buddy wants to chase the Seagulls.
I know if I let him go he'll be in the waves!
It's so soothing, just the sound of the surf, even the birds are quiet.
Such a beautiful morning.
So I just wanted to share one of my favorite things.
I hope wherever you are today, you have a great day!
Thanks for joining us,
Emma
What nice photos! So peaceful. A walk along the beach looks like the perfect way to start the day.

Did you get a lot of rain where you are from that storm? We were watching golf on TV at Torrey Pines and it was a mess! Cute pics, even a day at the beach when it is cold out can be fun.
ReplyDeleteThank you Fawn! The ocean is very peaceful and just restores my mind. It is a perfect way to start the day.
ReplyDeleteYes Flo, we got a LOT of rain the day before our beach walk. We also had really high winds. It was whistling all around the house and the trees looked like they were all going to be blown over. It was a little unnerving to be honest! But we all just snuggled under blankets and watched fun movies!
ReplyDeleteWatching the waves roll in is one of favourite things to do as well.

ReplyDeleteHey I remember Doheny Beach! About the only time the surf is good is right after a storm! I loved going to Doheny for a bonfire, and hot dog/marshmallow roast!
I thought you might have been here! Yes, true, the surf is much larger on some of the other nearby beaches, but this is closest to our house. WE frequently have beach fires and cookouts at Doheny and marshmallows always play a big part!
ReplyDeleteLove your pictures! I too love the beach. Used to live in San Diego and would sit on the rocks and watch the waves and check out the tide pools. I also lived in Miami, Florida and in the winter I would be in a coat sitting on a wall on South Beach watching the waves and the tourists going into the water.
ReplyDeleteThank you Linda! Don't you just love the ocean in winter? I know you do from your comment, but you know what I mean. :)
ReplyDelete@ Canadian Doll - Sorry I didn't respond to you before! ME TOO!!! I love being near the ocean. It is one of my favorite things to do, just sit and watch the waves. So relaxing.
