Looking for Fall Leaves

OK girls, I need to find some Fall Leaves for my school report.
Will you help me?
Sure! Of course we will!
You two walk towards the school and I'll walk towards the church.

I'm not seeing any Fall Leaves.
Well, because we live in Southern California!
We'll really have to keep our eyes open.

Well, so far nothing but this pretty yellow daisy.

Palm trees, but no fall leaves.

There is nothing but Palm leaves around here!
Let's keep going!

Here are some leafy trees, but no Fall colors!

Hello avocado tree can you give me one yellow leaf?
Please?

More Palm trees.

Well this bougainvillea is a Fall color and technically
these flowers are  leaves...hhmm, I don't think Mr. Lohman would agree.

Look Elle another flower!
But we need to find Fall Leaves!
Oh right, sorry.

Elle!  Look up!  This tree is beautiful!
It's just what Emma needs, but how can we reach them?
Look on the ground!

Will these be OK?
I think Emma will love them!
Let's gather them up and head back.

Some more lovely flowers! But where are the Fall Leaves!

Finally!  Yellow leaves on this
pomegranate tree!
HEY!  What's that!?

Perfect!!

How beautiful!

I love fall.

WOW!  Thanks!  I have plenty of leaves for my project now.
We had fun!  It was great to walk around and
REALLY look at all the plants and trees in our neighborhood.

You two are the best!

Thrift Store Doll Clothes Makeover

So, I found this bag of misc. doll clothes at my local thrift store.
When I got home and opened the bag this is what I found.
4 dresses, 3 pair of PJs and a sleeper.
I'm pretty sure these are 1970 era doll clothes.
I decided to remake them for the Crissy's to fill out their wardrobe!

Here are all 3 PJs.  I think they are fine as they are.
But I decided to definitely do a makeover on the 4 dresses.

This first  red dress made me decide
these clothes were likely from the 1970s.
Look at that pointy collar!

The green dress.

The red stripe dress.

The yellow flower dress.
All these dresses are WAY too big, so I had to bring them in.

And, here is how they turned out!!

First, the red dress
Definitely came out great.  It works perfect for these 1970s dolls.

The red stripe dress I removed the pink flower group
from the pocket and added some stitching detail.

I have found that the larger Crissy dolls can wear their smaller
sisters dresses as tops. Their bodice size is the same!

Definitely my favorite makeover dress!
I took off the lime green bow and replaced it with
This line of blue flowers.

The yellow dress had gathered sleeves at one time, but the elastic is worn out.
I decided to leave the sleeves in this bell style.

Here again a Velvet-size dress makes a cute Crissy top.

Well, for $5.00 I got several new outfits for the Crissy dolls.
I'm very happy with how these little projects turned out!

The 2015 Savage Dolls Fashion Show and Tea

The Savage Dolls had SUCH a fun day yesterday!
My neighbor's SIX Grandaughters came to play in our dollhouse.
They ranged in age from about 7 to 9.
One of the girls INSISTED I take a picture of  Buddy, Pooh and Nutmeg.
So of course that is exactly what I did.

Then the girls decided to have a Fashion Show and Tea Party.
I knew you would all love to see their fashion creations.

First we have Elle modeling a Paris dress with sheer overskirt.
Is it rainig?  Don't have an extra hand carrying all your shopping bags?

No worries, just stick your umbrella in your dress.

Here is Jess modeling a lovely summer frock
with a playful addition of winter ear muffs and scarf.

Who says muffs are just for snow?

Next we have Jose modeling a lovely multi-layered dress.
Red sunglasses make her ready for the beach.

"How you doin?"

Beth is wearing a lovely green patterned sundress,
pink glasses and fuschia beaded flats.
Perfect for shopping or the library.

Grace is modeling a party dress with canvas tennies.
Go from Middle School to a party without a change of clothes.

My favorite today is Emma who is wearing a multi-layered outfit.
Her sheer skirt reveals an eyelet underskirt.

Her side pony gives her a look of devil-may-care.

After our fashion show today everyone is invited to attend the Savage Dolls Tea Party.
There will be tea of course and...

Waffles, pizza and other sweet confections.

Thank you all for attending the 2015 Savage Dolls Fashion show
produced in cooperation by the Moore Grandaughters.
