Doll Easter Baskets

Gather some ribbon, lace & any bric-a-brac you like.

A glue-gun, and the bottom of a plastic Easter Egg.

Cut ribbon to 6 inches.

Hot glue the ribbon first on one side...

Then the other.

OH!  almost forgot! I glued a plastic ring on the bottom to help the basket stay up.
I large button would also work!

Decorate the top of the egg/basket with more ribbon and lace
or whatever you like!

I also added some small bows and ribbon roses.

And here they are.

I found small glitter eggs and tiny peeps at the craft store.
(although the peeps did not stand up very well : )
(And looked a little loopy)
anyway...

HAPPY EASTER!!

Baby doll cradle from a cardboard box

I got this 6" babydoll for 99 cents on ebay.
She came wearing this little lavender stripe dress and tites.
She was a bit musty smelling and sticky, so she got
a baking soda/water bath and I put her in a baggie with baking soda powder over night.

I made this little christening gown for her next day.

For a little doll bed I started with a box slightly bigger than my 6" doll.
I cut off the lid and used it for a curved headboard and bonnet.

 Here is the headboard
And here is the bonnet which is just bent around the curved top.

Next I covered everything with fabric attaching with my glue gun.

This next picture is the bonnet and headboard.
I covered each piece separately, then glued them together.

And here is the headboard added.
Now my bed is all covered in fabric.

I used lace and bric-a-brac and hot-glued them to my bed
over the canopy first, then around the bed.

Here is a detail of the back.
Not perfect, but fine for a toy doll!

At this point I realized my lace was too long,
SO, I had this oatmeal box that I had saved and
decided to use it to make a rocker/stand.

Cut in half and covered in leftover fabric scraps,
I glued it to the underside of my doll cradle.

Small pillows for bedding AND...
VOILA!
A doll and cradle for Skyler.

I made this cradle for a tiny doll, but this idea could work for any size doll!

 Back in the dollhouse...
Look Julie!  Mom got me my own doll!!

She is SO cute!

 I think so too.

Skyler's Room

Hello everyone, I'm Skyler and I wanted to show you my new room, but first I have to tell you about my new family.  There are 8 girls BESIDES ME and 1 boy!
We are all adopted and they have all made me feel so loved and welcome!  My new brother Martin just got his room done too, I found that out.  My new mom likes to find things and make them new and pretty.  Just look at my room!!

See?  what did I tell you?  Pretty huh?

Here is the right side of my room...

And here is the left side.
Mom made this pouf chair.

My new bed mom found at a thrift store for $4!!

Then she hand quilted this bedspread just for me!
I am so amazed too because I love butterflies and my quilt has butterflies...

AND this mobile has butterflies!

Jose said I could keep her Cherry Jam doll until I get a doll of my own.
(Mom hinted that there might be a doll coming in the mail just for me!)

Here are my pretty sheets and pillows.

So, I just want everyone to know how happy I am and
how I love my new family AND my new room!

Hey, Nellie and Skyler are on their way here now!
Wow, it is so neat that we are getting another sister!

So, what do you know about Skyler Molly?

Here we are, OH hi martin! This is Skyler.
Skyler this is Martin.

Hi Skyler, welcome to our family.
Thank you.

Hi Skyler.
Hi Skyler.
Hi Skyler, do you like Strawberry Shortcake?
I do! The only doll I have is my stuffed dog, Missy.
Here you can play with mine if you like.  We all share!

 Thanks!

We love having a new sister!

Hey, where is she gonna sleep tonight?
I have an extra bunk you know?
That's right Martin, thanks for mentioning it!
